Mukherji Affirms Mission to End Veteran Homelessness in NJ

TRENTON - Senator Raj Mukherji (D-32), chair of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, reaffirmed his commitment to ending veterans' homelessness in the State of New Jersey.

“The phrase ‘homeless veteran’ should not be a thing,” said Mukherji. “Those who served our nation in uniform deserve, at a minimum, to never go without a roof over their heads."

The Marine Corps veteran contextualized the significant strides made in the state while noting more work to be done.

The Bringing Veterans Home initiative lays a tremendous foundation, as does the leadership, Mukherji said, of Governor Sherrill.

"Governor Sherrill’s whole-of-government commitment to achieving functional zero represent serious progress toward our obligation to our veterans,” Mukherji said.
