Murphy Buzzes Stack’s Ball in Bergen

MOONACHIE – Gov. Phil Murphy grabbed the hand of Union City Mayor Brian Stack at Stack’s ball tonight, did a fast walk through the catered affair, then exited through a side door.

“This is about the people,” Stack told InsiderNJ, as a flow of bodies backed up at the front door.

Stackites claimed 2,000 in attendance.

Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla was in the room.

Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop showed.

So did West New York Mayor Felix Roque.

So did Freeholder Bill O’Dea.

And Hudson Clerk Junior Maldonado.

Jersey City Councilman Danny Rivera.

Assemblyman Raj Mukherji was in the room.

Correction.

Rooms.

There were multiple chambers here, which meant Stack addresses at least two separate assembled crowds of revelers.

As Michael Jackson sang on speakers, he darted through bodies from the main area, down a hallway, and into another big back room.

The big look event occurred against the backdrop of a developing countywide food fight between this group and Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise.

As if affirming and reinforcing an early weakened DeGise pal U.S. Rep. Albio Sires (D-8) in the face of a Stack-Fulop onslaught, U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) will serve as special guest at a Sires fundraiser on Monday night.
