Murphy Puzzled by Trump Resistance to Gateway – but Optimistic

Insider NJ's Max Pizarro discusses how the ongoing political drama between Gov. Phil Murphy and South Jersey Democratic power broker George Norcross III is like an ongoing, simultaneous screening of the movies Goodfellas and On the Waterfront.

SECAUCUS – Gov. Phil Murphy said he couldn’t figure out why the administration doesn’t back the Gateway Tunnel Project canned by Governor Chris Christie.

“This ought to be a no brainer,” Murphy told reporters, noting Trump’s own personal business holdings, concentrated in part in New York City.

The Governor said he remains optimistic that “he [Trump] and his team will get there.

“There’s got to be something going on because it’s so darn obvious,” he added.
