Murphy Tries to Put the Brakes on the Madness

NEWARK – Phil Murphy called it “a bit of sweet revenge.”

The governor was at the offices of the North Jersey Community Research Initiative to highlight the award of $95 million to combat opioid addiction and related problems. The money, which will be awarded over three years, is part of about $1 billion coming to the state over the next two decades to combat addiction. It is the state’s share of an estimated $26 billion settlement with three national pharmaceutical distributors.

The governor stressed that none of the money is coming from taxpayers and that all of it will be used to target addiction and the problems that contribute to it.

The setting for Thursday’s event on Central Avenue symbolized the centers that will get aid.

Officials said what is known as the NJCRI meets people “where they are.”

That means that besides substance abuse treatment, the center offers a food pantry, emergency shelter and mental health counseling.

With that in mind, the $95 million to be awarded will concentrate on various areas, including housing, medication access and keeping struggling families together.

The governor was upbeat:

“Today we are making a historic investment in life-saving and life-changing programs that will connect those suffering from a substance use disorder with the help they need. By bringing together service providers, subject matter experts, and those who have experienced firsthand the impact of the opioid crisis, we have identified key programs to maximize the State’s Opioid Recovery and Remediation Fund,” he said. “Together, the services being funded will empower families and individuals in New Jersey who have felt the devastating impact of addiction, giving them the resources necessary to support sustained recovery.”

Just how the money will be distributed and who will get it hasn’t been decided yet.

Murphy offered some good news in the state’s fight to combat opioid deaths. Overdoses are down.

There were 2,564 suspected overdose deaths in 2023, down from 3,054 in 2022, according to the state police and state health department.

But as the governor said, anything “north of zero” means there’s work to be done.

  1. Congratulations! You can fight opioid addiction!
Now what about the rest of us, who have had our pain meds pulled out from under us and left to suffer debilitating, chronic pain??? WE ARE NOT ADDICTS!!! Yet we have been lumped together with all those who use street drugs and others who are addicts! Many chronic pain sufferers are committing suicide because the pain, without relief, is just too much! You all have turned us from functional people when we get the pain relief we need, into invalids who can barely get out of bed!!! Have you even thought about US???

  2. Common sense approach is prevention, accessible services and pro-active public health campaigns. I have seen no public service announcements about the dangers of youth THC/marijuana use. A gate way drug to the the madness Murphy is trying to put the brakes on. There was only celebration of its legalization for recreational use and how much revenue it will bring in. A cash cow on the back of our vulnerable youth.
Murphy wanted to shut down school based youth service programs in our high schools last year. That was a “knuckle head” decision that drew a tremendous amount of opposition. {Knuckle-head – One of Governor Murphy’s favorite terms frequently used during Covid, to describe New Jerseyans .} The decision was defeated, thank goodness. Two-thirds of New Jersey’s localities said no to Pot Shops in their towns.
Just maybe, instead of making the science of climate change a mandatory part of New Jersey’s school curriculum – which was a first in the nation celebration and accomplishment of First Lady, Tammy Murphy,-perhaps our youth would be better served learning about the science of THC on the brain. -www.Just SayKnow.org – #JustSayKNOW. Possibly, our law makers might want to get educated themselves. And just maybe they will understand the uncomfortable shoes the parent walks in everyday as they wonder where is the compensation for their deceased loved one. A painful discussion , but one that needs to be addressed.

  3. Governor, don’t you think it’s about time that you lift the ban on the retired state workers pension. It’s twelve years since Governor Chris Christie put a 30 years ban on the poor retired state workers of New Jersey.
Sir, you had promised to lift the ban when you ran for Governor the first time. The state workers of New Jersey were your biggest supporters including myself. You did give the workers a nice raise but the retirees never got anything. Cost of living went up over 100%, my pension remains the same. Please fulfill your promise. Lift the ban on our pension and give us something for all the old state of New Jersey retired workers.
    God bless.
Respectfully , Mr. Mohammed R. Khan.
    Retired Crew Supervisor. Electrical.

  4. Rivka’s comments above state my thoughts & feelings most eloquently.
Consideration must be given to those, under medical treatment, who require pain medication!

    Thank you.

  5. The hypocrisy and dishonesty is so blatant. This Governor is overseeing the mass distribution of a drug, Marijuana to tens of thousands of NJ citizens legally. This drug has been shown to be addictive and lead to mental health issues if abused like alcohol. And in the next breath he is saying we are going to use money from the Opiod settlement to solve a problem that he is creating. Probably the worst governor in NJ except for Chris Christie who is a big liar too.

  6. I mailed my senior freeze paper 6 months ago. I’m call ever week . I’m disabled live in my house for 21 years. I’m very frustrated that no one will help get my money $911 . I’m falling be hind on medical bills and my medication. Now I can’t pay my gas bill and water. Please in gods name help me . I’m being told the have everything they need . Now they tell letter from social security awards letter . Why only me for this letter . Senior freeze never sent me a letter or any thing . You charge interest if we don’t pay . But we don’t get interest when you owe us .. I have multiple sclerosis also kidney cancer in both kidneys etc .

  7. Gov. Murphy you would look better on the set of the Sopranos. You are the quintessential politician, put mushrooms and weed out legally. Then and only when you get free cash do you make a huge deal how you are helping us. I am disabled and have to go out of state to get the meds I need. Why don’t you help the living so you don’t have to say goodbye to the dead? Why does the government get the money and not the families that lost loved ones?

  8. The war on opioids is simply a political football and a massive cover-up by the DEA who is incapable of stopping the flow of heroin and fentanyl but they CAN lean on legitimate prescribers and deny those in pain. SIMPLY A DISGRACE!

  9. NJ stop electing Democrats and Rhinos. They do not care about hard working tax payers. They are liars and thrives they have proven this time and again. They are concerned about opioid while tons of Fentenal comes across the borders and into Jersey killing anyone who comes in contact with it. The opioid show what a money grab that hurt actual health patients with true disabilities. My elderly mother was one of them. However Murphy took care of her by murdering her by sending Covid into Nursing homes. Murphy is a disgrace!

  10. You can start by looking at how your state run mental health and substance abuse facilities are being handled. Patients are getting pushed out after 3 days, given a 30 day script, told to follow up for outpatient treatment to find out they’re overwhelmed with wait lists over 4 months. Patient can’t receive continuous rx treatment without seeing a psychiatrist and there you have it, patient relapses or dies. System is severely broken. Before giving any money, start by looking at what the treatment centers are doing to combat addiction and not raping the system just for funds and why private insurance treatment facilities have a higher success rate in treating compared to the state run facilities. – grieving mother

  11. Someone above keeps saying that everyone complains, but Governor Murphy still won a second term. That’s because the Democrats are experts at cheating. Governor KNUCKLEHEAD was behind by 15,000 votes at Midnight on Election Night when the counting is supposed to cease at midnight, but 4-5 hours later, he was leading by 15,000 votes and won. How? Ballots were found behind computer voting machines and in trunks of cars in Essex and Bergen Counties. Unsigned, undated ballots were counted. Dead people and people who lived in a residence that they no longer reside in were counted. Democrat-Communists are experts at Voter Fraud and Vote Cheating.

The Democrat election boards say that they can’t count all the votes in one day. What about the fraudulent mail in ballots that come in weeks ahead of the election???? Who counts those??? Time to go back to paper ballots, and hand counting by Midnight on Election Night. They did this in France in their last election, and counted 25 Million paper ballot votes in one night. And, they had no computer voting machines or mail-in ballots weeks before. How come they can do it in France, but you can’t count 4 MILLION voters in one day in New Jersey???

  12. Recently, Amy Kennedy endorsed Tammy Murphy for
    U. S. Senate. Several years ago, I had the pleasure to meet Amy at the prestigious Child Mind Institute, in NYC where she was accepting an award for her husband Patrick Kennedy – one of the world’s leading voices on mental health and addiction.
The Child Mind Institute for years have warned about the dangers of THC on the developing adolescent brain. Today’s marijuana is more potent than ever. New Jersey legalized its recreational use, in large part for the enormous revenue. It is naive to believe teens will not get their hands on the stuff, especially since it comes in tasty high potent chewable gummies and vaping oil. A preventable mental health crisis is brewing. There is a reluctance to connect the dots. Too much money to be made on the back of our youth. Tammy Murphy could be the voice of a public health campaign, since she believes what we need in government is more angry moms. Moms don’t be angry, be smart. Be your own advocate and get educated. Justsayknow.org – #JusysayKNOW

  13. Very irresponsible on your part to make weed legal! That’s the beginning of the end for the young people in this state! We have enough trouble in NJ, don’t need people driving around after smoking weed! It’s all about money not our safety! Why don’t you try to work on making things more affordable for the people!!!

  14. He sucks and everyone complains about him, and yet he won a second term. You get what you deserve…next time vote for the other guy.

  15. So if us taxpayers aren’t paying for it….where exactly is this large sum of money coming from? I’m highly skeptical when large figures of money are mentioned and immediately followed up by “none of it will come from taxpayers.”

  16. Gov Murphy please help those who are in critical chronic pain. Yes opioid addiction is horrible but fir those who really need it you took that away. If your mother was in critical condition wouldn’t you want her comfortable? There are thousands of people that depend in certain pain medication to get up out if bed each day. We are nit addicts. We ate not junkies but men and women who need then to get through our daily lives. We can’t play with our grandchildren are frowned upon because we xant do the things we used to do because of pain when given a pain med it us like a new resolution and makes it so much easier to be mire independent and we can enjoy the hobbies and the little things we used to do. You took that from us and you promised help. I dint want to hear that yoyr not what you say you are governor. I voted for you in hopes you would stick to your word and that thousands of us would get releif

  17. After 20 years in Congress Fighting drug legalization former Republican speaker changed his tune and took over a multi state marijuana company. The very first and at one time only cannabis store was the one he owns. The baloney that this is a Democrat run system is a joke.
“longtime medical cannabis dispensary in New Jersey has struck a partnership with Acreage Holdings, the multistate marijuana business that last month brought former House Speaker John Boehner onto its advisory board.”

  18. $95 million to fight opiate addiction and while allowing marijuana to be legal to create a new health and drug crisis. Make sense? It doesn’t!

  19. Can you affordable apartment or condominions for people can’t afford to pay a lot when we are one or 2 with not enough income cuz we t sick and can work only part time
    Jobs

  20. I have needed opioid medications to control permanent pain enough to use a Walker, sit in wheelchair, plus sit in recliner 90% of my day. On same dose for over 10 years without change. It has no effect on mood, no feeling of being high-which I hate and would never use if it had that effect. I understand many people do not feel high from their meds. Gov Christie made opiods a big political show, leaving us legit users fighting insurance, begging pharmacy to fill script on time . For a while in 2023 my husband would go to pharmacy and ask for my meds once script should be filled. It would take three visits to have meds sent to the store and filled. Illegal to mail them. Last three months it suddenly improved. Still, I do not even try to have enough pain meds to make it bearable. Doctors terrified the state will harass them, pharmacists terrified same reason. There are far more legit, documented pain patients than opioid users I suspect.

  21. How about all the people who never received their anchor rebates? Who stole them? The workers at taxation? All they say is , it’s being processed. For over a year? Liars. Thief’s.

  22. How about taking care of the PFRS retirees who haven’t had a cost of living raise in the past 15 years, when the cost of everything else keeps going up. And how about you put millions into senior prescription plans, for those who can’t afford their medicine.you gave the unemployed $600.00 extra per week during the epidemic, but for those who served under PFRS and those who worked all their lives got zippo.

  23. ” Mr. Boehner’s pro-weed epiphany coincides with the prospect of a payday as high as $20 million from the industry he once vigorously opposed.” He sits on the board of Acreage Holding- a marijuana investment firm -and he was the Republican Speaker of the House.
This is neither a Republican or Democrat run system. It is is a money making system. There are many benefits to medicinal marijuana, and I do not think anyone is arguing that point. The legalization of cannabis for recreation without any guardrails to protect teens, having unconscionable marketing strategies to entice teens, and the void of any public health education to inform the public at large of the dangers of THC on the developing brain is the only baloney in this story line.
Governor Murphy just happens to be our leader and the buck stops with him.

  24. Murphy is a joke. Drug addicts are that way by choice. If they started taking too many drugs…… stop. State workers have money coming in AND medical benefits for free….stop complaining. What about seniors that can’t afford food because their taxes or rent is so high but their SS checks can’t pay it even though they worked their tails off for their whole life. I’m 69 and can’t retire until I drop dead. Sorry but that’s unfair….go ahead, keep helping the drug addicts who got there on their own.

  25. I take hydrocone it’s generic Vicodin for years my Doctor says now that he’s done giving it to me I’ve had numerous surgeries in the past and I have one coming up in two months I got yelled at for taking way too much Tylenol for it will kill my liver so he broke down and gave me the pain medication I have to take 4 a day just to be able to get out of bed and try to do some things for myself and it just barely works I don’t want to ask him to up my medication but that’s the only one that works for me the other kinds of opioids I don’t like they bother my stomach and I get some side effects I want to keep my pain medication but will have to plead him next appointment I’ve tried non opioid medication and they don’t work for me I was in a bad accident at work years ago and was screwed over by workers comp and I have been living in pain ever since then and I have even signed a contract with the doctor saying that I won’t go anywhere else for my pain medicine

  26. Murphy will enable the problem. First he will hand out high paying jobs to diverse people, next he will give the opportunity zones/ city’s millions to hand out free food, housing and clothing. He’ll start a program to get free syringes and offer a safe space do do you drugs. He will claim people of color don’t have the help that others do. Then he will turn his head and say good luck!

  27. Murphy will enable the problem. First he will hand out high paying jobs to diverse people, next he will give the opportunity zones/ city’s millions to hand out free food, housing and clothing. 28. My grandchildren have no father because of fentonal. I wish someone would care about that……It is to late for him and his family.

  29. Grieving Mother, I’ve lost so many people since 2016. F this governor and these horrible democrats because they have done nothing. The number of addicts is going down because they are dieing off, and of course working class, young, and retirees all leave NJ.I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve lost family and close friends of 20 years to this fentanyl poison. All these slimes did was lock up addicts. Now he goes to Newark courting votes, hippocrite and liar

  30. Educate yourself on both sides of topic before preaching.
    Less judging more acceptance.
Its better to listen than screaming to be heard. Nothing gets resolved.

  31. Any 🤡that talks about cannabis is a gateway drug is obviously to alcohol and cigarettes. Those are truly gateways as they are the first things that are usually available in 90% of households. If you think your kids weren’t smoking before recreational/legalization your smoking on your own supply! To purchase anything at a “legal” cannabis shop in NJ, you need a state ID and have to be 21 and over. So they aren’t getting it from those places so they must be getting it from the black market/streets, with NJ proximity to NYC cannabis is always going to be available thru the black market . Lastly your brain has a endocannabinoid system that primarily influences neuronal synaptic communication, and affects biological functions, including eating, anxiety, learning and memory, reproduction, metabolism, growth and development, via an array of actions throughout the nervous system. There’s a reason why God made your brain with these receptors!

  32. This state clearly is archaic in how they operate. Lack of modernization is huge problems as phones aren’t answered at govt agencies, Murphys’ office is answered by an angry black woman just outright nasty, the housing situation in serious turmoil as judges in certain counties…HUDSON IS EVICTION CRAZED WO HEARING VALID FACTS AND THIS HAS BECOME CATASTROPHIC NIGHTMARE. I DO BELIEVE THIS GOV IS NOT AWARE OF TGE PROBLEMS. FOREMOST I DO BELIEVE THAT THIS ‘GARDEN STATE’ WHY CALL IT THIS AS HUMANS IN THIS STATE EAT THE WORST, MASS PRODUCED GARBAGE COMMERCIALIZED FOOD AND IT AFFECTS BRAIN FUNCTION. THIS AFFECTS DECISION MAKING. IF NJ ATE BETTER PEOPLE WOULD FUNCTION BETTER MENTALLY. THIS IS FACT. EAT MEDITERRANEAN FOOD NJ. THE STATE HAS AN OBESITY PROBLEM THAT IS PLAINLY PUT, OUT OF CONTROL. OFF THE PROCESSED CRAP ALREADY. IM IN SHOCK BY WHAT NJ CONSUMES.

MORE—I LIVED IN RESIDENCE FOR 27 YEARS AFFORDABLE HOUSING. BECAUSE OF DEREKICT MANAGER, DEBORAH SMITH BROWN A BLK UNEDUCATED, GASLIGHTING, MANIPULATIVE MANAGER, THIEF, ID THEFT PROBLEM, LACK OF POLICE HELP, CONSTANT ABUSES, HARASSMENTS IN TOWN OF HOBOKEN, OUT OF CONTROL, MUNICIPAL COURT TRYING TO PROFIT FROM NON LAW ORDINANCE RIDICULOUSNESS OF MONETIZING EVERY LITTLE BIT OF FREEDOMS, ITS BECOME INCESSANT FAILURES, DESTRUCTION OF CIVIL RIGHTS, FREEDOMS, ETC. NONE OF THIS EXAGGERATED BUT YET JUST SHOCKING IN REAL TIME REALITY. IVE LIVED ELSEWHERE, NEVER HAD THESE ISSUES IN OTHER TOWNS. COPS ARE ABUSIVE YELLING SLANDEROUS NAMES OUT THEIR WINDOWS, NAME CALLING, YELLING MY NAME ON STREETS. ITS NAZI GERMANY IN HOBOKEN. GOVERNOR YOU SEND A MONITOR INTO THIS ATROCIOUSLY VICIOUS TOWN. MANAGER OF PROPERTY COLUMBIAN ARMS DEBORAH SMITH NEEDS TO BE ARRESTED IMMEDIATELY. SHE MISREPRESENTED IN COURT, AND I MUST HAVE HOME RETURNED TO ME IMMEDIATELY. CASE WAS FALSELY OVERTURNED I WON AND THAT SHOULDVE BEEN FINAL.
MORE TO THIS. I MAY BE DEAD IN MAY IF I CANT GET HOUSING. THESE POLICIES W SEC 8 ARE BACKWARD AND CRUEL. I CAN GET AN APT IMMEDIATELY AS I NEED A VOUCHER IMMEDIATELY. I WILL DIE IF I CANT GET HOME. GOD DAMN IT FIX THIS DUMP OF A STATE. HELP ME NOW!!! I DID NOTHING TO GET EVICTED. I COMPLIED W THE ORDER!!!! YOU ARE INAWARE AND EMPLOY TROUBLE AT DCA. THEY DO Z E R O TO HELP….

  33. Not a clown and not clowning around. There was a massive tobacco public health awareness campaign and also for alcohol. All anyone is suggesting is the same public health campaign for cannabis. So we the people can make informed decisions. The industry certainly has enough profit to fund that initiative.

  34. What a bunch of morons on here. This money is coming from a law suit. He’s using this mkney for its intended use. You’re just anti pot people who have conrributed to the issues of drug addiction by outlawing the least harmful drug and creating a bullion dollars business for those who profit off of other harmful drugs. How can you not need see thisbas a good thing? The people who take up state resources for their deep seated mental issues(drug addiction is a mental issue) and tend to disrupt various communities are getting more help they need in order to break out of a condition put on then by a generational issues of a broken society you people voted for over the passed 50 damns Years by under funding social programs and throwing non violent mental compromised people in jail. It’s 2024, the world is responding to mistakes of the yeara passed. Get the hell over it.

  35. And as for what the states not doing, didn’t you people learn in school that we don’t live under dictatorship? There’s a slew of other people voted unto our political system that handle such and this state has kept the same agenda following Republicrats in power who’s only interests are economical and not with the will or needs of the people. My goodness.

  36. We have an AI technology that is currently being used at hospitals and ASCs throughout the country. This is the first technology that effectively aggregates all prescribing of opioids at the point of surgery/treatment. Murphy is only funding reactive programs. Since there is no baseline for prescribing opioids, more and more people become addicted. Our technology creates prescribing standards for opioids and this identifies physicians, hospitals that are over prescribing. This is what should get funding. But politicians only focus on reactive programs. Contact me Gov. Murphy and I’ll show you how we can eliminate more than 60% of opioid-related addition beforehand.

  37. Just Say KNOW 60 second PSA spot – YouTube.html

Perhaps this PSA can be the start to a bigger campaign.
After all, recreational cannabis sales in NJ approached $1 BILLION last year. Not full of baloney or clowning around – Just a fact.

  38. As Social worker worked for years between. The courts and rehab to help people to get the services they need, addiction is hard issues to recovery especially with this drug. I Pleased the governor as I signed the bill now how it will be distributed will be the question.

  39. Murphy is giving money to aid in opioid addiction while legalizing marijuana. NJ received $1 Billion from sales last year and STILL none of our taxes went down?! Why?! Where is this admin working to make the citizens lives better? He reallocated the Covid awards of tax payers dollars to now prioritize illegals and etc. If you’re a senior/disabled/etc in NJ they do not care about you!! We never see our taxes go down. We see more building of unaffordable homes, more tax payer subsidizes to corporations all on the backs of the tax payer. Schools are failing. We see NJ cap SS while cost of living goes drastically up. Disabled people on SS are forced to work due to SS not being enough to cover the cost of living. You can not make over $12k a year. NJ expects disabled people to work, be homeless or move out of NJ. There is no help for NJ citizens! Everyone is left on waiting lists, the property freezes are a joke, the property refunds are $250.00! NJ is unaffordable, extremely corrupt, and nothing but, pay to play schemes! This award is for shelter, food pantry, opioid crises in name though?? The politicians all enrich themselves at the cost of NJ citizens! The constant removal of land and building of sfh rather than affordable homes is absurd! Corps/companys don’t seem to pay taxes to off set the citizens. The constant raising of every tax/fee/interest to NJ residents is despicable! There is zero freedom here when we need permission and permits for any and everything! You are charged for everything and taxed five or six times on the same dollar!!!! Property taxes are the only Bill one cannot make payment arrangements for and allows the state to foreclose only to keep 100% of the profits made. The homeowner does not get anything. NJ steals people’s home as they claim to own all of the land. So much for being free people while living in NJ. Murphy has stripped away parental rights, homeownership, owning a business, every school is failing our kids, etc. NJ has become a worthless state for the rich or corrupt only. Everyone else is screwed. NJ doesn’t seem to really care about their residents. Murphy needs to go and we need MAJOR changes in this state!! The budgets get bigger, the taxes are always raised and we get much less for our living. Murphy locked us down, killed our elderly, wasted Millions of taxes, allowed the Dutch wind farm to stop building, He got Millions in Covid money- our money still is not helping to raise SS, Lower property taxes based on income of the person, Using the billion in marijuana sales to offset the budget! Stop voting Democrat NJ! They do NOT care about the people!!!!!! We need to bring Murphys salary down to $1.00 and remove him from office. Where are the lawyers willing to fight on behalf of the average NJ resident?? You will never truly own your home in NJ. Murphy lied about everything he told us he would do. He’s beholden to his donors/dept of Ed/lobbyists/etc! He’s proven such. The party means more to him then NJ residents.

  40. ALL RESPONSES ARE TRUE. I AM GOING TO HAVE TO SELL MY HOME
AND MOVE BECAUSE I CAN’T AFFORD THE PROPERTY TAXES. I AM A DISABLED SENIOR. IN 12/22 I LOST MY SON TO OPOID ADDICTION. HE WAS TRYING TO FIGHT THROUGH A NJ PROGRAM WITH ANOTHER ADDICTIVE DRUG. NJ PROGRAM.

  41. Murphy got re elected in a year where it complete chaos and in absolute question. I see people write “this is what you promised” you CANT trust the demonrats and RINO’s….Murphy is a disaster. If we can’t close the southern border work on a plan and close OUR own border. This is where your bigger opioid issue is coming from. Murphy is a waste and hasn’t kept to anything he says. Just remember All the things he’s done and if we can get a good red candidate to run…get them in!!!!

  42. The State of NJ gets a copy of every prescription filled. How did it fail to identify problem doctors, patients, drug stores, distributors, clinics, etc.? The illegal drugs crossing the border is on the Feds, but the prescription opioid crisis could have been fought in NJ with basic spreadsheet/database analysis.

  43. This conversation started with a grieving parent. It was followed with the suggestion of prevention and education as one of the many avenues to fight the drug addiction and overdose epidemic. With the money awarded to New Jersey from the opioid settlement, Governor Murphy tries to put the brakes on the madness. To include an ounce of prevention and awareness, regardless of the substance and regardless of it being “legal” or not, seems like an okay measure to consider. Why wait until you have a three alarm fire?
    That is the true madness.
Unfortunately, if this crisis has not touched you in some way, you may be considered a clown, a moron or just full of baloney.

  44. Everyone complains about the Woke Democrat policies nationwide but they keep re-electing them. Look what is hppening in NYC and Chicago in the recent mayoral elections…..you thought it couldn’t be worse than the two orevious administrations …WELL IT DID!! They listen to the lies about conservatives and Republicans from the MSM and never take the time to look beyond what they are hearing.
Sadly, nothing will change if this continues.

  45. My wife died from an overdose. There are two issues, those who get hooked on prescribed pain meds and those on illegal drugs. Give some of that money to the State Police to fight the flow of illegal drugs in New Jersey.

  46. My wife died from an overdose. There are two issues, those who get hooked on prescribed pain meds and those on illegal drugs. Give some of that money to the State Police to fight the flow of illegal drugs in New Jersey.

  47. Dear Gov. MURPHY

PLEASE do what can be done to STOP the flow of. FFENTANYL & other ILLEGAL drugs into the USA.

PLEASE, ALSO, realize that PAIN MEDICINE is needed by many suffering people that often require Opioid based Medicines!!

Govt must NOT interfere with Medical Treatment.!

(ESPECIALLY when our Govt has created this problem w/ loose borders, non_enforcement of immigration policies, & ‘ closed eyes’ strategies toward ‘Organizied Crime’ going back to WW 2 ).
