NJDSC Vice Chair Peg Schaffer Goes After Ciattarelli

On Monday, Governor Phil Murphy announced his intention to nominate Rachel Wainer Apter, a former law clerk to the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and a civil rights activist, to the State Supreme Court

New Jersey Democratic State Committee Vice Chair Peg Schaffer has released the following statement following Republican Gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli’s attack on Governor Murphy’s highly qualified intended nominee to the State Supreme Court, Rachel Wainer Apter:

“Jack Ciattarelli is once again showing his true Trumpian colors, rushing to attack and insult any woman who doesn’t conform to his ‘standards’. That he would condescendingly disapprove of Rachel Wainer Apter, a United States Supreme Court Clerk for Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a graduate of Harvard Law School, and a civil rights leader and seasoned lawyer as an ‘inexperienced liberal activist’ just shows that Jack doesn’t know jack. He is showing his own inexperience in dealing with talented attorneys, especially those of the brilliant female variety. You have to wonder if Jack Ciattarelli ever was the moderate he held himself up to be, or if he was always the trumped up right-wing misogynist just hiding his true nature to get elected in Central Jersey. But dropping insults against the highly accomplished Rachel Wainer Apter, who clerked for the great Ruth Bader Ginsburg, demonstrates exactly who he is.”
