Passaic County GOP reorganizes, Murphy & Walsh unanimously re-elected Chair and Vice Chair

Peter Murphy last night received unanimous support to continue as Chairman of the Passaic County Regular Republican Organization at the 2022 Passaic Republican Committee reorganization meeting at
The Brownstone in Paterson. Also unanimously re-elected tonight was Vice Chair Joanie Walsh
in front of a packed house of Republican County Committee members.

“I am honored to have earned the support of the Passaic County Republican Committee members and be re-elected tonight,” said Murphy. “From Woodland Park to West Milford and Pompton Lakes to Prospect Park, our mission to run and support strong Republican candidates at all levels is flourishing.”

Wayne Mayor Christopher Vergano nominated Murphy and Walsh, with seconds from West Milford Mayor Michele Dale and Haledon Municipal Chair Ayman Mamkej. The reorganization meeting featured representation from all sixteen municipalities across Passaic County as well as Senator Kristin M. Corrado, Assemblyman Kevin J. Rooney, and Passaic County Commissioner Nicolino Gallo.

“The unanimous support for Peter, myself, and his leadership team tonight is such a humbling show of support from our party leaders,” said Walsh. “I look forward to working with all of our party members up and down Passaic County over the next three years to bring more success to our Republican Party.”

This is the second consecutive unopposed election for Murphy and Walsh. Following municipal reorganization meetings within the past few days, the Passaic County Republican Committee
now serves through the June 2025 primary election.
