PATERSON - Set to campaign tomorrow (Saturday with LG candidate Dale Caldwell), Mayor Andre Sayegh this morning made his case for U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill, the Democratic nominee for governor.
Sayegh said the candidate who best addresses affordability issues will win the contest between Sherrill and Republican nominee Jack Ciattarelli.

The mayor was appearing with the National Auto Body Council (NABC), GEICO, and Dynasty Auto
Body to present four refurbished vehicles to New Jersey veterans through the NABC Recycled Rides program. The National Auto Body Council, GEICO and Dynasty Auto Body, presented a fully refurbished 2022 Hyundai Elantra SEL to Jeffrey Ortiz, a 2023 Hyundai Elantra SEL to Donald Chavies, a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited to Ivette Caban and a 2023 Hyundai Sonata SEL to Robert Marshall. The vehicles will provide reliable transportation to veterans and their families, helping them access medical care, work, and community service opportunities.
Heading into the event, Sayegh spoke with InsiderNJ about the developing race for governor, his role and Paterson's role within the contest, and his opposition to President Donald J. Trump's decision to mobilize National Guard troops in urban areas.
