State Senator Joe Pennacchio (R-26) is forming an Exploratory Committee for a possible run for the Congressional seat in the 11th District.

A final decision will follow in a few weeks, Pennacchio told InsiderNJ.

First elected to the 26th Senate seat in 2007, Pennacchio is a dentist by trade and a conservative who ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in 2008.

A pro-labor Republican, he was an early supporter of President Donald J. Trump.
