Poll Book Snafu Sparks Court Ruling in Passaic County

Political Parties: Currie, emblem of one half of NJ's main political parties.

Sherine El-Abd, the Passaic County Superintendent of Elections, left signature information for new voters out of the poll books and was having them vote provisionally.

Passaic County Democratic Committee lawyers prevailed on a Passaic County Judge to order that 7000+ voters being disenfranchised by the Superintendent’s error be allowed to vote on voting machines if they have government-issue IDs.

A Democratic ally of Democratic State Committee Chairman John Currie seethed over what he said was Senate President Steve Sweeney’s (D-3) foot-dragging on appointments – including super of elections – in order to punish Currie.

The result, the source said, is that Democratic voters – [Senator Bob] Menendez voters – are being disenfranchised.
