32BJ SEIU Endorses Councilwoman At-Large Emily Jabbour for Hoboken Mayor, and Councilman Joe Quintero and Caitlin Layson for City Council-at-Large
Hoboken, NJ – Last Friday, 32BJ SEIU endorsed Councilwoman Emily Jabbour to be the next Mayor of Hoboken, along with her two Council candidates, Councilman Joe Quintero and Caitlin Layson for Council-at-Large. 32BJ is a labor union representing over 175,000 property service workers, part of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) that focuses on workers’ rights, fair wages, and benefits.
“Working families need leaders at every level of government who understand their struggles and will fight for fair wages, affordable housing, and safe communities,” 32BJ SEIU Vice President and New Jersey State Director Ana Maria Hill said.
“I am proud to be supported by the members of 32BJ SEIU again, this time as a Mayoral candidate – this is a union that has long fought for dignity, fair wages, and rights of working families. Hoboken thrives when every worker has a voice, and I’m proud to have always stood with the members of 32BJ in building a city that is affordable, equitable, and inclusive for all,” said Councilwoman Emily Jabbour.
In a statement, Councilman Joe Quintero said, “I am honored to once again be endorsed by 32BJ SEIU, whose members are an integral part of our community. They are not only our friends and neighbors, but essential to how our community runs. I will always stand up for our shared beliefs that we all deserve an opportunity to meet our full potential – by working together there is nothing we can’t accomplish.”
