5th Legislative District Team Backs Vic Carstarphen for Camden Mayor
(Camden, NJ) – The following is a joint statement from State Senator Nilsa Cruz-Perez (D-NJ-5), Assemblyman William Spearman (D-NJ-5), and Assemblyman William Moen (D-NJ-5):
“While we’re saddened to learn that Camden Mayor Frank Moran has decided to retire from office, we celebrate his 31 years of exemplary city and county government service. Mayor Moran has done a stellar job under difficult circumstances, but has pushed major reforms which have positively reshaped the city for generations to come.
On that note, we fully support Councilman Vic Carstarphen to become the next Mayor of the City Invincible.
Vic is a natural leader who unites people. From his legendary Camden High championship basketball-playing and coaching days, to mentoring thousands of Camden youth, Vic will be the leader who brings our youthful city together.
We are excited to work with Councilman Carstarphen as Camden’s next mayor.”
