8 Assembly Reps., 4 Challengers Secure Clean Water Action Endorsements
Long Branch, NJ – President Trump’s continued rollback of federal safeguards means state and local governments need to fill the void. It’s vital that local and state leaders work to ensure strong protections for our health and environment. New Jersey must return as a national leader on clean energy, clean water, and environmental justice. We can only achieve this by electing assembly members who will prioritize their constituents over special interests.
Clean Water Action is campaigning in support of four challengers in two NJ legislative districts. These candidates have fresh ideas, will bring a new energy to Trenton, and are committed to protecting our environment, communities, and public health:
- NJ Legislative District 10: Eileen Della Volle (D) and Erin Wheeler (D)
- NJ Legislative District 26: Christine Clarke (D) and Laura Fortgang (D)
As recently reported in Clean Water Action’s 2018 – 2019 Legislative Scorecard, NJ’s Legislature has failed to advance bills that protect public health and the environment. However, there are some individual legislators who are strong champions for clean air and water. We’re supporting these incumbents who have led the way and also completed a Clean Water Action election questionnaire:
- Dan Benson (LD 14)
- Verlina Reynolds-Jackson (LD 15)
- Andrew Zwicker (LD 16)
- John McKeon (LD 27)
- Mila Jasey (LD 27)
- Britnee Timberlake (LD 34)
- Clinton Calabrese (LD 36)
- Valerie Vainieri Huttle (LD 37)
