ACLU-NJ to Host Virtual Gala “We the People: Daring to Create a More Perfect NJ” with Awards for Social Justice and Celebrity Guests
Celebration will honor NJ Prison Justice Watch and trailblazer attorney Frank Corrado, and feature musician and activist Tom Morello and actor Piper Perabo

NEWARK – The ACLU-NJ will hold a virtual celebration “We the People: Daring to Create a More Perfect NJ” on Friday, September 17 – Constitution Day – streaming online. ACLU-NJ advocates, including Executive Director Amol Sinha, will honor some of New Jersey’s most effective advocates and feature appearances from notable celebrity guests, while reflecting on the historic work of the last year and advocacy ahead to build on our progress. Tickets for the virtual event start at $20 and are available here.
When: Friday, Sept. 17, 2021 – Constitution Day – at 4 p.m.
Honorees:
- New Jersey Prison Justice Watch – Instrumental in passing the groundbreaking Public Health Emergency Credit law and New Jersey’s law limiting solitary confinement
- Frank Corrado – A legal leader in New Jersey who has served as an attorney in key civil rights cases, including as an ACLU-NJ cooperating attorney, and former president of the ACLU-NJ Board of Trustees
Celebrity Guests:
- Activist, Musician, and ACLU Smart Justice Ambassador Tom Morello
- Golden Globe-Nominated Actor and New Jerseyan Piper Perabo
