AFL-CIO December 2nd Runoff Election Results Update: Labor Candidate Victory

| December 2nd Runoff Election Results Update: Labor Candidate Victory The New Jersey State AFL-CIO congratulates our Labor Candidate Joel Brooks, a member of AFT/HPAE for his election to Jersey City Council. A long-time labor organizer, Joel also received an endorsement from the Hudson County Central Labor Council. He has proven his commitment to supporting working people on the issues that matter most and will continue to work diligently to amplify the voice of labor. His election brings our number of labor candidate victories to 1,353. This fall, we achieved an impressive 82% win rate for our labor candidates. We also congratulate James Solomon, who was endorsed by the Hudson County Central Labor Council, on his election as Jersey City mayor. Unfortunately, labor candidate Dahlia Vertreese, a member of IUOE 68, lost her election as Hillside Mayor. We sincerely thank her for years of public service as mayor, and we wish her well. Congratulations again to Joel and James! Their dedication to our labor values serves as a source of inspiration to us all. |
In Unity,
