WEST NEW YORK, NJ — The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) New Jersey Council 63 is endorsing Congressman Albio Sires (D-Hudson) in the 8th District primary election. Representing hardworking, dedicated public employees throughout the nation, AFSCME is recognized as a leading advocate for working families and progressive values.

“Congressman Sires is an advocate for public employees and the services that AFSCME members provide to the people of New Jersey.  His recent vote in favor of the HEROES Act demonstrates his commitment to protecting the public services that the people of New Jersey and the entire country rely on,” said Steven Tully, Executive Director of AFSCME New Jersey, Council 63. “Congressman Sires has stood with AFSCME New Jersey members and we are proud to stand with him.”

“Our public employees dedicate themselves to serving our communities, and never has that been more clear than during the COVID-19 pandemic when they have had to do more than ever for residents,” said Rep.
