Alexander Campaign for Congress Announces Key Endorsements

Tim Alexander, Democratic Candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District, announced this morning a major endorsement from Atlantic County Sheriff Eric Scheffler.

With this endorsement, Sheriff Scheffler joins a strong slate of support for Tim including past CD-2 candidate and mental health advocate Amy Kennedy, former Assemblyman Vince Mazzeo, County Commissioner Caren Fitzpatrick, former LD-1 Assembly candidate Yolanda Garcia Balicki, and even Tim’s prior opponent, retired police officer and EHT PAL Director Hector Tavarez.

Statement by Atlantic County Sheriff Eric Scheffler:

I am proud to endorse Tim Alexander for Congress. Throughout his career in law enforcement, Tim has dedicated himself to public service and learned firsthand what it means to put his community before himself. During his run, I have watched him truly listen to the people of this district. Every time a new issue is raised at one meeting or forum Tim arrives at the next excited to talk about his plan to address it. And, perhaps most importantly, I believe that Tim can win this election. He has the strategy, the grassroots team, and a message that can appeal to every voter in the district. I look forward to seeing his campaign win in November and bring real representation for South Jersey to D.C.

I am so honored to have the endorsement of Atlantic County Sheriff Eric Scheffler. Law Enforcement is a tough job, and an even tougher one to do right. Sheriff Scheffler has demonstrated excellent leadership keeping our communities safe. I look forward to working with him to support our officers after I defeat Jeff Van Drew this November.
