Amy Kennedy Endorsed by Taking the Hill PAC and Former US Secretary of the Army, Patrick Murphy

Brigantine, NJ — Today, Taking the Hill PAC announced its endorsement of Amy Kennedy, former public school teacher and mental health advocate, running for New Jersey’s second congressional district.

Taking the Hill PAC was founded by Iraq War veteran and former U.S. Secretary of the Army, Patrick Murphy, who was also the first Iraq Veteran elected to serve in the United States Congress. The Hill PAC aims to help more veterans and military family members continue their service to America in elected office nationwide, and to support leaders who are committed to addressing the needs of veterans and military families.

Earlier this month, Kennedy released a comprehensive veterans policy to address the issues that South Jersey veterans and military families are facing. More than 350,000 veterans live in New Jersey, and the counties with the highest concentration of veterans—Cape May, Salem, Ocean, and Burlington—are all in New Jersey’s second district.

“I’m honored to have the endorsement of the Taking the Hill PAC and it’s a privilege to be fighting for South Jersey veterans and military families,” said Amy Kennedy.  “Our community’s veterans have been struggling to get the care and services they need. Even during the coronavirus pandemic, our veterans are serving on the front lines and playing a critical role responding to COVID-19.  It’s an honor to give back to the men and women who served our country and I am committed to making veterans issues a top priority in Congress.”

Patrick Murphy, Iraq War veteran and Former U.S. Secretary of the Army, said, “I started the Taking the Hill PAC because I know how important it is to have representation that understands  the struggles veterans and military families are facing.
