Amy Kennedy Releases LGBTQ Policy, Endorsed by Equality PAC

“We as a society, have a responsibility to address the injustices the LGBTQ community is facing”

 

Brigantine, NJ – Today, honoring LGBTQ History and Pride Month, Amy Kennedy, candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s second district, released an LGBTQ Policy, detailing her commitment to advancing and protecting the rights of the LGBTQ community. Kennedy was also endorsed by the Equality PAC and Congressman David Cicilline(RI-1), Co-Chair of the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus.

 

Kennedy pledges to pass the Equality Act, ensure access to healthcare, support the treatment and prevention of HIV and AIDS, prevent bullying and harassment, address and prevent LGBTQ violence and support LGBTQ veterans and servicemembers.

 

The Equality PAC is the political arm of the Congressional LGBTQ Equality Caucus and is dedicated to the full legal and societal equality for LGBTQ Americans. They support LGBTQ leaders and allies to the United States Congress and Senate who are committed to civil rights and protections for all LGBTQ Americans.

 

Amy Kennedy said, “I’m proud today, to not only be putting forth a policy that will honor and protect our LGBTQ community in South Jersey and across the U.S., but also to be endorsed by the Equality PAC. We as a society, have a responsibility to address the injustices the LGBTQ community is facing, and ensure the protections they need. I look forward to working alongside LGBTQ leaders to provide leadership, legislation and community for all LGBTQ Americans.”

Amy’s LQBTQ Policy is the latest in a series of comprehensive policy plans that she has released including a Healthcare Plan, an Environmental Protection Policy, a Workers’ Bill of Rights, a Veterans Policy and a Clean Elections plan, among others, all detailing how she will fight for the people of South Jersey as a member of Congress.  The endorsement of the Equality PAC  is just one in a long list of endorsements for Amy Kennedy, including: Communication Workers of America. New Jersey Education Association, NJ CD 2 Progressive Democrats, South Jersey Progressive Democrats, NJ Working Families Alliance, Taking the Hill PAC and End Citizens United.
