Andy Kim Announces Endorsement from the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters

MARLTON, NJ — Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) announced the endorsement of the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, adding to a long and growing list of local labor unions and building trades supporting his reelection

“The Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters is proud to endorse Congressman Andy Kim for reelection. Our 42,000 skilled union members are proud to advance the fight for fair pay and safer working conditions, and our Council is glad to have Andy in that fight with us,” said Frank Mahoney, Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters Communication Director. “Just like Andy, we don’t care whether you’re a Democrat or Republican, all that matters is whether you’re working to protect workers rights on all levels.”

“I’m proud to have the endorsement of the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters,” said Congressman Andy Kim. “In Congress, I’ve stood alongside them in the fight for better pay, safer conditions, and keeping jobs right here in New Jersey. As we head into this fall, I’m honored to join them to continue our work together.”

In addition to the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, Andy has been endorsed by the SEIU New Jersey State Council, New Jersey Laborers Union (LiUNA), International Association of Sheet Metal, Air & Rail Transportation Workers (SMART), the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers (Boilermakers), the Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey (PFANJ), ATU New Jersey State Council, Ironworkers Local 399, UA Local 322, Plumbers, Pipefitters and HVAC Service Technicians, Teamsters Joint Council 53 and Local 676, the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers of New Jersey, the Communication Workers of America Local 1036 and Local 1032, The International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW), the New Jersey State Association of Letter Carriers, and the American Federation of Teachers New Jersey (AFTNJ). Without taking support from corporate PACs, the campaign raised more than $1 million in the second fundraising quarter of 2020. The campaign has raised more than $4.3 million in the 2020 cycle, and currently has more than $3.5 million cash on hand. The campaign has put itself in a strong position to win what is widely expected to be one of the most competitive races in the country this fall. Of individual donations to Kim’s campaign, 90 percent were $100 or less, demonstrating continued grassroots support that helped him win in 2018.
