Andy Kim Announces Third TV Ad

MARLTON, NJ — Today, Andy Kim announced his third television ad which began running this morning. In the ad, Jenniffer Hernandez, a navy veteran who served to protect our freedoms, calls out Healey for his dangerous position on abortion that would take away freedoms from women. Healey said the Supreme Court “made the right call” when it overturned Roe, that it is “unfortunate” that New Jersey protects a woman’s right to choose, and that he would allow politicians to ban abortions even in the case of rape and incest. Bob Healey’s extreme agenda hurts women and families, and is dangerous for New Jersey.

AD TEXT:

Jenniffer Hernandez

I’ve had health problems, including a stroke, but I’m fortunate.

For family, my husband’s job, for the rights and freedoms we both fought to defend.

But Bob Healey would let politicians ban a woman’s freedom to choose.

He said that it’s “unfortunate” that New Jersey protects abortion access.

Mr. Healey, I say it’s fortunate I have a Congressman that protects my freedom.

I’m Andy Kim and I approved this message.

BACKGROUND

Healey Said The Supreme Court “Made The Right Call” In Voting To Overturn Roe v. Wade And That It Was “Unfortunate” That New Jersey Lawmakers Had Codified The Right Of Reproductive Choice Into The State Constitution.

HEALEY: “Well first off I think the Supreme Court made the right call here. It’s a state’s rights issue. What I and I think a lot of people in this country that a lot of umbrage with is the fact that this was leaked. We’ve got to be very, very careful. The sanctity of our Supreme Court is very important for this country. If justices feel like they can’t make and come to decisions between themselves without those decisions being leaked, if they feel like they can be pressured externally before their decisions are put in front of this country at the appropriate time, we’re going to have a lot of problems. It’s going to get very ugly in the judicial branch. You know as far as the…as far as abortion going forward, it’s now with the state of New Jersey, for our state, and the state of New Jersey has unfortunately enshrined abortion into the constitution. Certainly, when I get to Congress, I will use the bully pulpit that I will have on the federal side to speak about that issue. Now it has been remanded to the states which is where I think it should have been back in 1973.” [Facebook, GOP Primary Debate, 5/4/22] (VIDEO) 14:02
