Appointment of Diomedes Tsitouras, to the Civil Service Commission has been confirmed by the State Senate

TRENTON, NJ- The appointment by Governor Phil Murphy of Diomedes Tsitouras, of Fairview, NJ to the Civil Service Commission was confirmed by the State Senate on January 9, 2020.

Mr. Tsitouras is Executive Director of AAUP-BHSNJ. Mr. Tsitouras’ nomination was filed with the New Jersey State Senate on March 14, 2019.

As Executive Director of American Association of University Professors – Biomedical and Health Sciences of NJ (AAUP-BHSNJ), Tsitouras is responsible for the operation and direction of this professional labor organization which represents more than 1,400 doctors, dentists, and other medical science faculty at Bioscience and Health chapters throughout New Jersey.

Mr. Tsitouras received his bachelor degree and Master of Public Administration degree from Cornell University and obtained a Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law.

Mr. Tsitouras joins Chair/CEO Deirdre L. Webster Cobb, Esq., Dolores Gorczyca and Daniel W. O’Mullan on the Civil Service Commission, an independent State body that hears and rules on appeals filed by State, county and municipal civil service employees, candidates for employment, and appointing authorities. The CSC provides a forum for appeals to be heard, and fair and impartial decisions to be rendered based on the facts and the law.
