Assembly Panel to Discuss ‘New Jersey Debt Defeasance & Prevention Fund’ & Improving the State’s Fiscal Condition

 

(TRENTON) – The Assembly Commerce and Economic Development Committee will meet at 1:00 P.M. today to discuss and hear testimony from invited guests about the greater than $3 billion in state debt which was defeased through the “New Jersey Debt Defeasance and Prevention Fund”.  Additionally, they will discuss potential opportunities to improve the State’s fiscal condition through activities supported by the fund.  Assemblyman Roy Freiman (D-Somerset, Mercer, Middlesex, Hunterdon) and Geoffrey Stewart, Managing Director of PFM Financial Advisors LLC, will testify before the committee.

The committee will meet in person in Committee Room 16 on the 4th floor of the State House Annex in Trenton.  There will not be an option to participate by telephone or video. For those interested in accessing the hearing online, please listen to the live stream: https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/.
