Assembly Panels to Hear Testimony on Proposed Constitutional Amendment to Expand Veterans’ Property Tax Deduction & Legislation to Promote Use of Electric Vehicles on Monday

Appropriations Committee Will Also Convene to Review Multiple Bills

 

(TRENTON) – On Monday, the Assembly Military and Veterans’ Affairs and Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committees will hold public hearings on two measures that would, respectively, extend the veterans tax deduction and support the use of electric vehicles in the state.

The measure being considered by the Assembly Military and Veterans Affairs Committee (ACR-253) proposes a constitutional amendment to extend the veterans’ property tax deduction and exemption to certain veterans who did not serve in time of war. The committee will meet in Room 13 at 10:00 AM.

The Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committee will hear testimony on A-4819, which would establish goals, initiatives and programs to encourage the use of plug-in electric vehicles. The panel will convene in Room 12, 10:00 AM.

The Assembly Appropriations Committee will also meet on Monday at 11:00 AM in Committee Room 11, 4th Floor, State House Annex. Its full agenda can be found here.
