Assembly Women and Children Committee to Discuss COVID-19 Impact on Children in Wednesday Hearing

 

(TRENTON) – The Assembly Women and Children Committee will meet on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 10:30 AM in Committee Room 11, 4th Floor, State House Annex, Trenton, New Jersey.

The Committee will receive testimony from invited guests concerning the impact of COVID-19 on the physical health and well-being of children, specifically on the emerging multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C) in children. The panel will also receive testimony from invited guests concerning the impact of COVID-19 on the childcare industry, examining safety issues and economic concerns in reopening facilities.

Creates commission to study sexual assault, misconduct, and harassment by staff against inmates in State correctional facilities.

 

Due to the public health emergency, the State House Annex remains closed to visitors and the public will not be allowed to attend the meeting in person.  The public may view the meeting on the New Jersey Legislature home page, at https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/.  The Committee will take oral testimony on bills, by telephone and/or video, limited to three minutes.

If you are interested in registering your position with the Committee, you should fill out the Registration Form for the Committee on the website.  If you wish to testify, check the box on the form “Do you wish to testify.”  The form must be submitted by 3 pm on June 23, 2020. Written testimony will be included in the Committee record and distributed to the Committee members.  Written testimony should be submitted to OLSAideAWC@njleg.org.
