Assemblymen Auth and Azzariti Launch Re-election Campaign as a Strong Team for Bergen County

OLD TAPPAN, NJ — Assemblymen Robert Auth and John Azzariti officially announced their campaign for re-election Thursday, determined to keep fighting for Bergen County families. The two incumbents, each bringing distinct expertise and a shared commitment to public service, have pledged to work as a unified team to address the issues that matter most to their constituents.

“Serving alongside John Azzariti has been an incredible experience,” said Auth, a five-term Assembly veteran. “John is relentless in his commitment to transparency, education and public health. He’s been a fierce advocate against harmful policies and together, we’re ready to keep pushing for changes that truly benefit Bergen County families.”

Auth, first elected in 2013, is a 30-year insurance industry expert and the author of New Jersey’s 2017 law mandating life imprisonment without parole for those convicted of murdering a minor during a sex crime. Known for his approachable leadership, Auth has become one of Bergen County’s most respected Republican voices.

“Bob Auth is a trusted leader and an unwavering advocate for our community,” said Azzariti. “His dedication to protecting children and serving families across Bergen County is unmatched. I’m proud to stand beside him in this campaign, and we’re committed to upholding the values and addressing the needs of our district.”

Azzariti, an anesthesiologist who joined the Assembly last year, has challenged flawed legislation and fought to protect transparency and accountability in government. He rallied against attempts to hike property taxes and pushed for comprehensive education funding reform to support Bergen County schools.

His legislative work includes bills like the Protecting Students from Obscene Material in School Libraries Act and a requirement for clear, accessible summaries on legislative documents so the public can better understand what’s before the Legislature.

Assembly Republican Leader John DiMaio, who is leading the Assembly GOP campaigns next year, underscored the importance of re-electing the team.

“Auth’s seasoned leadership combined with Azzariti’s fresh, bold approach is exactly what Bergen County needs to fight back against Trenton’s overreach,” said DiMaio. “They’re a powerful force for change and accountability, and they’re not afraid to tackle the tough issues.”

State Sen. Holly Schepisi also emphasized the importance of their continued service.

“As proven by this week’s election, to win and continue our hard fight in Trenton, we need principled Republicans working together as a team,” said Schepisi. “Auth and Azzariti are a battle-tested team with unbreakable conservative principles and an unyielding commitment to our district. They are the only District 39 candidates who have earned my support for the upcoming Assembly race.”

Bergen County GOP Chairman Jack DeLorenzo closed with a strong endorsement.

“Re-electing Auth and Azzariti is the only way to keep our district firmly in Republican hands. If I were betting, every chip would be on them to hold the line against the Democrats. Anything less is a risk Bergen County can’t afford.”

With the unified backing of GOP leaders and a shared commitment to conservative values, Auth and Azzariti are ready to continue representing Bergen County with unwavering resolve and principled leadership.
