(July 26, 2023—Jersey City, NJ)— Assemblywoman Angela McKnight Seeks Solution to Jersey City Bus Lines Closing

“The news that A&C Bus Corp. will stop operating its Jersey City bus routes is a fire alarm for me. We absolutely can not stand by and just watch the means of transportation for our most vulnerable populations dissipate.

“We need a viable solution for residents to get to and from their destination. Everyone must have connectivity to their work, grocery stores, leisure activities and other parts of the city. Transportation should not be a luxury for the few who can afford it. It is a necessity like running water and clean air.

“Bus lines have slowly been closing in my district over the years, and I have been quickly fighting for solutions. The same way I fought for state funding for alternative transportation such as Via in Jersey City, I am committed to seeking a solution to the news of this bus line closing.

“I plan to meet with NJ Transit and A&C Bus Lines, as well as other city officials to find out what we can do to ensure transportation stays in place for these impacted areas,” says New Jersey Assemblywoman Angela V. McKnight (D-Hudson County).
