Assemblywoman Britnee Timberlake to Host Two Community Events Next Week: The 4th Annual Covered with Compassion Event & A Day of Remembrance Candlelight Vigil
East Orange, NJ – Assemblywoman Britnee Timberlake will host two separate community events next week in the city of East Orange. The first event entitled ‘Covered with Compassion’ will take place on October 25th at her District office located at 520 Main Street, Suite 1 from 11:00am to 3:00pm. The event is for women who have lost their hair due to health-related issues. In addition to the wig giveaway, women will undergo makeup application and massage therapy to celebrate inner and outer beauty while receiving support services for their respective conditions. Covered With Compassion was inspired by the Assemblywoman’s grandmother Mary L. Whitley, whom Timberlake used to do her grandmothers makeup and hair during her battle with cancer to make her smile.
The second event entitled ‘A Day of Remembrance’ will take place on October 28th in front of her District office from 6:15pm to 8:00pm. The purpose of the candlelight vigil is to honor the lives lost due to Covid-19. All District 34 residents are encouraged to participate in the event by bringing photos of their loved ones to be honored in prayer, song, and a moment of silence with a candle lighting. “I send my deepest condolences to my community members and those across the state of New Jersey who have lost a loved one due to COVID-19. Now is the time for us to come together and ensure that we are doing what’s required to mitigate the loss of additional lives,” said Assemblywoman Timberlake. The Assemblywoman’s office is partnering with Essex County to provide vaccine access to those who would like to get vaccinated before or during the candlelight vigil.
