Assemblywoman Stanfield and Assemblyman Peters to host Mobile MVC

MOUNT HOLLY – Assemblywoman Jean Stanfield and Assemblyman Ryan Peters have heard enough from their residents about long lines and cancelled appointments at local motor vehicle offices and decided to bring the Motor Vehicles Commission straight to their district.

The two 8th District Legislators will be hosting a Mobile MVC Unit in conjunction with the New Jersey Motor Vehicles Commission that will offer 50 appointments to people looking to get a new license, registration, Real ID and more.

“My office has fielded countless calls from people who have been driving with an expired license or registration because they’re having such a hard time getting and keeping an appointment with the Motor Vehicle Commission,” said Stanfield. “I don’t want that to happen, so we’re trying to do whatever we can to partner with the state to get my residents better services.”

Stanfield and Peters will be bringing the Mobile MVC Unit to Mount Holly as part of their “District Day of Service,” where they shut down their office once a month to perform a day of community service. The unit will be parked behind the Mount Holly Police Station on 23 Washington Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 30. Residents must make an appointment to be helped.

There are a few appointments that have not been booked, and the legislators are urging people to call and email their office to get their issues taken care of.

“We think the Mobile MVC Unit will be very successful, and we hope to do it again later in the summer. We still have some spots open, so please, if you’ve had problems with New Jersey MVC, call us so we can try to help,” Peters said.

“Jean and I pride ourselves on finding solutions and are excited to bring this service to the people we represent,” Peters continued.

To sign up, please call 609-667-7360 or email aswstanfield@njleg.org or asmpeters@njleg.org and let them know you would like to sign up for the Mobile MVC Unit. You’ll be asked for your first and last name, email address and what your transaction will be. The unit can do driver’s license renewals, registration renewals, license plate drop off, handicapped placards, non-driver ID, motorcycle license renewal and CDL renewal. Unfortunately, all REAL ID spots have been booked.
