Ocean Township, Monmouth County: Steve Clayton has announced he will be running for the Ocean Township School Board in this November’s election. Steve is a proud graduate of the Ocean Township schools and was a first-generation college student at the University of Maryland. After a career on Wall Street, Steve went to graduate school at Carnegie Mellon and has been serving nonprofit agencies for a number of years. Presently Steve is the Director of Development for a statewide advocacy and policy nonprofit dedicated to the healthy development of all children. Additionally, Steve serves on a nonprofit Board of Trustees for the homeless.

Steve served on the Ocean School Board from 2015 to 2018, where he was the Chair of the Legislative Policy Committee. During his tenure on the Board, Steve demonstrated his belief in collaboration and working with his fellow Board members to find common ground for agreement.

Steve credits much of what he has been able to accomplish to the lessons he learned in the Ocean Schools from Wayside to the High School. Steve wants to make sure that today’s Spartans are given similar opportunities. Ocean is a special community; there are countless reasons to be grateful to live there and to believe in Ocean. Steve will be hard at work in the coming months to meet as many voters as possible before the November election.
