BERGEN COUNTY CLERK HOGAN AWARDS JAKUB ZAK FIVE-STAR STUDENT AWARD

BERGEN COUNTY CLERK HOGAN AWARDS JAKUB ZAK FIVE-STAR STUDENT AWARD

Bergen County Clerk John S. Hogan recently presented the FIVE-STAR
STUDENT AWARD to Jakub Zak, a sophomore at Ramapo College.
The Wallington resident was recognized for the work he has done to
support the small business community during the pandemic while
interning with New Jersey’s Small Business Development Center at
Ramapo College. While doing so, Jakub maintained a 3.88 GPA.
Jakub Zak received a certificate, along with a $500 check from the
John S. Hogan Foundation.

The Five-Star program encourages students to submit their stories
with photos/videos showing why they merit the “Five-Star Student
Award” recognition. Clerk Hogan is looking to award students for their
exemplary achievements, whether it be helping their community
through volunteer work, student entrepreneurs who have developed
a creative business model or individuals who have overcome some
form of adversity and have found a meaningful way to give back to
their community.

Upon presenting the award, Clerk Hogan stated, “Zak got it right when
he said, ‘You see the sign on the door—you’re authentically helping

someone.” Your efforts are truly admirable and meet the criteria for
the award’”

The FIVE STAR STUDENT AWARD is awarded on a quarterly basis so
students are encouraged to continue to make submissions. If a
student’s submission has already been received, that submission will
be reviewed and considered for future quarterly awards. For
questions, please feel free to contact Clerk Hogan’s office at (201)
336-7006.
