BERGEN COUNTY TEENAGE REPUBLICANS RE-ORGANIZE, FISHER ELECTED TO 2ND TERM WITH SLATE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Westwood, NJ – The Bergen County Teenage Republicans held their annual reorganization meeting on January 31st, re-electing Chairman Robert Fisher (Park Ridge) as well as Vice-Chairwoman Alexia Koulikourdis (Franklin Lakes), Treasurer Ronald “Ronnie” Bavagnoli (Wyckoff), and Secretary Jacques Kalfayan (Edgewater). Bergen County Executive Candidate Timothy “Tim” Walsh (Ramsey) will once again serve as Adult Advisor.

Bergen County Republican Organization Chairman Jack Zisa and Congressional Candidate Nick DeGregorio spoke to the meeting about the upcoming future for Republicans in Bergen County, and particularly, the involvement of young people.

Fisher has served in a number of roles for political campaigns across Bergen County and New Jersey, most recently serving as Field Director for Senator Holly Schepisi (R-River Vale).

“2021 was an incredible year for the GOP across Bergen County and New Jersey. All around Bergen from the tree-lined streets of Waldwick to the avenues of Teaneck, the Bergen County Teenage Republicans worked tirelessly to turn towns from Democratic to Republican. I could not have done this without our amazing executive board and membership. We brought the Bergen TARs back from the brink of disbandment to a thriving organization with over 40 members county-wide, and an executive team ready to take on any challenges that come forward. It is time to show the NJEA and NJDSC that they don’t own the youth of New Jersey, and they will not force us to mask up in schools or stifle our voices any longer.” Fisher stated.

Although decades old and often powerful, the Bergen TARs had been weakened by divisions in leadership and strategy. Fisher is the first Chairman re-elected without opposition in five years.

The Incorporator of the organization, political strategist and Deputy Chief of Staff to Senator Samuel Thompson (R-Old Bridge) Zach Myshkoff, expressed his happiness at the result:

“The Bergen County Teenage Republicans stand united to help further the cause of promoting education and activism among the youngest Republicans in New Jersey. Over the next year, I will be working incredibly hard with the membership to help grow the organization further, and ensure our best Republicans are elected to office from Bergen County.”

The next meeting will be held in February, with the focus of helping Republican Danyel Cicarelli win a special election for the borough council in Maywood.

A previous meeting featuring Senator Holly Schepisi and Councilman Grant Van Eck of Oakland.
