Booker Statement on House Judiciary Committee Vote to Approve Articles of Impeachment

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) issued the below statement following the House Judiciary Committee vote to approve two articles of impeachment against President Donald J. Trump for Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Congress:

“Today’s vote in the House Judiciary Committee was about patriotism and duty. This president violated his oath and eroded the trust of the American people — it’s our moral obligation as jurors in the Senate to proceed in this solemn process in an honorable and deliberate way. No one is above the law and it’s our sworn duty to defend the Constitution. I commend Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the House Judiciary Committee for the serious, thorough, and impartial way they have guided these impeachment proceedings.”
