Booker Statement on the Passing of Governor Jim Florio

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) issued the following statement:

“Governor Florio was one of New Jersey’s great public servants who courageously fought for the people and worked deliberately to bridge the divides that separate us. His efforts to implement an assault weapons ban, clean up New Jersey’s water and Superfund sites, and accomplishments on other priorities inspired leaders throughout our state and nation. Governor Florio leaves behind a lasting legacy, and New Jersey owes him a huge debt of gratitude for his principled leadership. My heart is with his family and loved ones during this difficult time of grief.”
