Brendan Gill for Congress Surpasses Petition Requirement with Over 1500 Signatures
MONTCLAIR, NJ – Today, Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill, candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District, announced that the Brendan Gill for Congress campaign has successfully reached the required petition filing guideline, marking a key step in the path toward the 2026 Special Election for New Jersey's 11th Congressional District. On Friday afternoon, the campaign submitted over 1,000 petitions, surpassing the required threshold, and this morning, the final petitions were submitted, bringing the total to 1700 signatures.
“Getting on the ballot is just the beginning — and it happened because everyday people across this district stepped up. I’m ready to be their champion in Washington and to fight for the families who make New Jersey strong,” said Brendan Gill. “From day one, I’ve said that I’m running for Congress to restore the promise of affordable housing, quality healthcare, and opportunities for every family. My parents taught me that when someone is left out, you make room for them. You give them a seat at the table.”
Gill added that the large number of petition signatures from across the district demonstrates the depth of grassroots support powering his campaign for Congress:
“My campaign is powered by grassroots organizing and the energy of people who want real change, because the people of NJ-11 deserve representation and a voice in the decisions that affect their lives,” Gill added. "That’s why I’m proud that our volunteer-powered campaign has touched every single one of the 47 towns in the district and helped collect 1500 signatures. Their support means the world to me. Right now, too many families are being left behind by greed, corruption, and politicians who forget who they work for. I will stand up to Donald Trump and his allies, clean up Congress, and fight every day to build a fairer, more affordable New Jersey where everyone belongs.”
