Brewers Guild of New Jersey’s Response to Governor’s Approval of S-3340 / A-5246 – Outdoor Dining Extension Legislation

“The membership of the Brewers Guild of New Jersey is extremely grateful to Governor Murphy, Senate President Sweeney, Assembly Speaker Coughlin and the sponsors of Senate Bill 3340 / Assembly Bill 5246 for the swift passage and final approval of this essential, job-saving legislation. Over the course of the past year, the pandemic has forced our state’s restaurant and hospitality industry, including breweries and brewpubs, to constantly pivot and adjust to the many unprecedent challenges associated with operating small, homegrown businesses that strive to afford customers welcoming, enjoyable experiences with highest safety standards in mind for both guests and employees alike. Knowing that our state’s breweries and brewpubs will be able to continue to serve customers outside as they have since June of last year through at least November 2022 is the kind of financial and regulatory predictability small businesses need in this pandemic era and should be seen as a model for policymakers going forward to help bring our state’s sensitive economic sectors back on their feet in the months to come.  – Eric Orlando, Executive Director, Brewers Guild of New Jersey
