Bridgewater Gets Permanent Christmas Tree Planted, Plans First Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

Bridgewater, NJ – Last week, a Norwegian Spruce was planted in the courtyard of the Bridgewater Municipal Complex to serve as a Christmas tree for years to come. Thanks to a donation of equipment and labor from Bridgewater resident and owner of High Tech Landscaping, Paul Cernuto, the tree, originally from the Camp Cromwell property, was planted at no expense to the Township.

“I would like to thank Paul and his whole team for this generous donation,” said Mayor Matthew Moench. “We will now have a holiday focal point at our Municipal complex for years to come.”

Additionally, this Friday, the Township will be hosting its 1st Christmas Tree Lighting at the Municipal Complex at 6PM. Due to State of New Jersey COVID-19 directives, the Township will be limited to 150 attendees, including staff, at this event. Information on how to register will be available tomorrow via blast email, Facebook and the Township website.

For those who are unable to attend in person, the Township will be live streaming the tree lighting on the Bridgewater Facebook page.

“While I am disappointed that we cannot have more of our residents join us in person, my hope is that this will become a large and meaningful annual community event for years to come,” added Mayor Moench.

The Township is also planning a Menorah Lighting Ceremony for Hanukkah the following week which will likely be virtual due to additional State COVID-19 restrictions. More details will follow through the Township’s official channels.
