Bucco Bill Promoting Insurance Jobs for Veterans Passes Senate

Legislation sponsored by Senator Anthony M. Bucco (R-Morris) to help honorably discharged veterans pursue career opportunities in the insurance industry was approved by the Senate.

The bill, S2930 would waive the initial insurance producer-licensing fee for veterans who have passed the licensing exam.

“It can be difficult for veterans to pay for the training and the licensing when they aren’t employed and earning money,” said Bucco (R-25). “This measure will make it easier for veterans who have protected our nation to transition into a solid new field with a strong earning potential.”

The Senate legislation was introduced by the late Senator Anthony R. Bucco, and Senator Anthony M. Bucco sponsored the identical bill, A1924, in the Assembly.

“Exempting veterans from these fees can be the jump start they need to launch a promising career,” Bucco said.
