Budget Committee to Hold Public Hearing
TRENTON – The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee will hold its second public hearing tomorrow on Governor Phil Murphy’s budget proposal for Fiscal Year 2023, giving the public another opportunity to provide input, Senator Paul Sarlo, the committee’s chairman, said.
“This hearing will give the public the opportunity to express their views on how the state budget can address their needs and advances their priorities,” said Senator Sarlo. “The public’s input is important. We want to put in place a spending plan that makes their lives more affordable, ensures the efficient use of resources and enables the effective delivery of vital services.”
The session is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 21. It will be conducted remotely with testimony delivered by telephone and video, accessible via the Legislature’s home page at: https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/live-proceedings.
Conducting the meeting through Zoom will be more inclusive, Senator Sarlo said, giving more people the opportunity to participate.
By scheduling the second public hearing after revenue and economic updates were provided by the Treasurer and OLS, the hearing offers the public more up-to-date information to comment on, Senator Sarlo said
