North Caldwell, NJ – Joshua H. Raymond announced his bid today for Mayor of North Caldwell and will be running alongside Council Candidates Arthur Rees and Stephen Weinstein. The Raymond Team brings together dynamic leaders with strong skill sets. Josh Raymond is a community-builder with legal expertise and vision. Art Rees possesses a deep knowledge of North Caldwell’s infrastructure needs and a sense of commitment to each resident. Steve Weinstein brings a strong finance background and an innovative spirit to the team.

 

The Raymond Team is focused on three core values:

  • Apply foresight and cost/benefit analysis to set North Caldwell’s priorities, including improvements to community spaces, facilities, and infrastructure.
  • Improve communication and transparency with residents and other governing bodies within the Borough to responsibly address the Borough’s needs.
  • Be strategic and innovative in relationships with developers and neighboring towns and open to public and private revenue-creating opportunities.

I am energized by connecting with my community, and I will bring that spirit to the office of Mayor every day,” said candidate Raymond.

 

Mr. Raymond served on the Council for the Borough of North Caldwell from 2014 to 2019. While serving as the Chair of the Recreation Committee, Raymond spearheaded renovations at the town pool and tennis courts. His proudest contribution on the Council was working in tandem with Borough residents and the North Caldwell Recreation Foundation to plan, design, and install the turf field at Liberty Park. Mr. Raymond is a Partner in the Roseland-based firm of McManimon, Scotland & Baumann, LLC, where he practices Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigation law.

 

Councilman Rees has been a member of the North Caldwell Borough Council since 2011. As a member of Claremont Construction Group, Art specializes in residential and commercial construction and is well-regarded for his proficiency in addressing the substantive infrastructure concerns that have accompanied increased property development in town. Rees has previously served on every Borough-level board. In addition to his extensive volunteerism for North Caldwell, Art is a member of Carpenters Local 253. According to Rees, “I want to be part of the next phase in our town’s history where we solve problems, increase opportunity, and make sure that North Caldwell is properly positioned to meet the future challenges.”

 

Steve Weinstein has a distinguished career in finance as a Managing Director with Citigroup and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he ran U.S. distribution for securitized products. Weinstein is a board member for the Children’s Service of Greater Monmouth County and Jewish Family Service of MetroWest, non-denominational agencies which promote food access and family wellbeing, including mental health care services. According to Weinstein, “As a North Caldwell resident, I am committed to spending money the right way. I approach challenges from a principled cost/benefit mindset and will seek out every available opportunity for the advantage of our great borough.”

 

All candidates will be seeking election in the November 8, 2022, General Election.
