Camden County Health Hub to modify hours
(Blackwood, NJ) – As the state of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to change, the Camden County Health Hub will be modifying its hours. Beginning Thursday, Sept. 15, vaccine hours will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In addition to the modified hours, the Health Hub will is now administering both the Pfizer and Moderna bivalent boosters. These boosters will target both the original COVID-19 strain as well as the BA.4 and BA.5 Omicron subvariants. Omicron is currently causing most of the COVID-19 cases in the country and are predicted to circulate this fall and winter as well, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
“This is yet another positive stride in protecting our communities and getting to a post pandemic world,” Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. “These vaccines will specifically target the Omicron variants that have been circulating and will bring that much needed extra layer of protection to our community. We are encouraging all fully vaccinated residents to go get their booster shots.”
The new Pfizer bivalent booster is recommended for all individuals ages 12 and older, while the Moderna bivalent booster is recommended for those ages 18 and older. People can get the bivalent booster if it has been at least two months since they have completed their primary vaccination series or two months after they have received the most recent booster dose with any authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine.
The county Health Department is strongly encouraging residents to make appointments at the Health Hub. You can make an appointment at the Camden County Health Hub by visiting www.CamdenCountyVaccine.com.
