CCNJ RESPONDS TO GOVERNOR MURPHY’S FY2023 BUDGET ADDRESS

TRENTON – (March 8, 2022) – The Chemistry Council of New Jersey (CCNJ) issued the following statement in response to Governor Murphy’s FY2023 Budget Address.

“It is encouraging that the governor’s budget does not include new taxes or fees,” said Dennis Hart, executive director of the Chemistry Council of New Jersey.  “We greatly appreciate the commitment from the administration to make New Jersey more affordable, including for employers in the chemistry sector that provide high paying jobs and represent New Jersey’s largest manufacturing sector. In an effort to encourage greater investment in our existing manufacturing facilities and to attract new companies, we would urge the administration and the Legislature to examine the current state agency fees and taxes, which are not capped and continue to hamper the manufacturing sector. I look forward to working with the administration and legislators to make sure this budget helps attract and keep businesses in New Jersey and motivate companies to increase their investment in our state.”
