MIRRIONE: SOLAR MANDATE = ENERGY SAVINGS + JOBS

Tenth District Congressional Candidate John Mirrione doesn’t see the environment as a political issue, but as a moral issue.

“We need to ensure that future generations have a planet that is safe and sustainable,” says Mirrione. The 55-year old Karate Guru and business owner believes that sound policy and innovative projects can help the country continue on the path of energy independence and solidify quality of life. The Libertarian declares he will introduce a bill in Congress to mandate that all new residential and commercial construction include solar technology. “Mandating solar technology on all new construction is a win-win for everyone, especially consumers,” says Mirrione. “Consumers win because they will see a sharp reduction in their energy bill, and everyone wins as we help the environment while creating quality, well-paying jobs.” Mirrione cites that the new residential construction installations will help immediately when a property is purchased as the price of the panels is rolled into the sales price—eliminating costly leasing programs as the homeowner will own the panels from day one. “People save money on their bills, their home’s value is maintained, and their resale value remains competitive as the energy savings is transferable,” Mirrione points out. “Solar technology is a way for new construction homebuyers to literally have ‘ownership’ in American environmental sustainability.
