The endorsement gives the former assemblyman from Somerset County the most high-profile backing yet in his campaign challenging Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy.
“The people of New Jersey deserve better. They’re sick of sky high taxes, reckless spending, closed businesses and rising crime,” Haley said.
“I’m proud to endorse Jack Ciattarelli to fix what Phil Murphy has broken,” she added. “A Main Street business owner, Jack understands the importance of lowering taxes, getting New Jersey working again and standing with law enforcement officers to keep communities safe.”
Haley’s involvement in the race is also an indication that the gubernatorial contest could draw more national interest between now and the Nov. 2 election.
Please see the statement below from Jack Ciattarelli on the endorsement:
“Ambassador Nikki Haley was an integral part of bringing the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and an exceptional governor for South Carolina, where she created hundreds of thousands of jobs and demonstrated true leadership under fire. I am honored to have her endorsement and appreciate her efforts to help make sure Phil Murphy is one and done in ‘21.”
