Cimino Unanimously Approved to Chair Mercer Freeholder Board in 2019

 

Trenton – On Friday January 4, the Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders ushered in 2019 by holding their annual Reorganization Meeting and selected new leadership for the upcoming year. 

Freeholder John A. Cimino of Hamilton who served as the Board’s Vice-Chair in 2018 was unanimously chosen to serve as board Chairman.  2019 will mark Cimino’s 10th year as a Freeholder and his 2nd term as Board Chairman.

“It’s an honor to be chosen by my colleagues to lead this board in 2019, said Freeholder John A. Cimino. Every year presents different challenges but I firmly believe this Board is ready to handle any situation put before them.”

Cimino who was joined by his wife Jeannie, son AJ, and daughter Emma was sworn in as Chair by Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin.

Along with being a Mercer County Freeholder, Cimino is the Director of Sales and Marketing for T&M Associates and a staunch community activist who serves on numerous boards including; the Hamilton Area YMCA Board of Directors, Lakeview Child Center Board of Trustees, and Nottingham Little League Executive Board.

“We are doing some amazing things right here in Mercer County, whether it be the renovation of our airport or the continued excellence of our park system, Mercer County is a leader. With that said, as leaders we must do our part as a County to come out strong on the many issues facing our State and Country such as pay equity, gun control, and health care.”

Freeholder and Princeton resident Andrew Koontz was selected to serve as Vice-Chair in 2019, was sworn in by City of Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora.
