Citizens group Who Is Van Drew? (WIVD) Statement in response to Van Drew’s vote against bi-partisan fact-finding commission
Release date: May 20, 2021
“U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s vote against a bipartisan fact-finding commission about the violence on January 6 shows that his commitment is to Trump, and not to his constituents or to his country,” said WIVD spokeswoman Lisa Bonanno. “Van Drew tried to straddle the fence on January 6 by denouncing the violence but still voting not to certify our election results. Amid the broken glass and smeared excrement of the insurrection, the ugly reality, he felt his loyalty to Donald Trump was more important than our peace. To this day, his fealty to Trump means more to him than the truth.”
“His vote is hardly surprising but it is still disappointing. Our Congressman appears to care nothing about our democracy. He only cares about staying on the good side of the disgraced former President and his new Republican friends,” said Kelly Redkoles, a founding member of Who Is Van Drew? “Van Drew’s disgraceful vote yesterday just confirms the need for citizens to continue to hold him accountable, which is the sole purpose of our group, Who is Van Drew?”

Who Is Van Drew?, (WIVD) is a grassroots, bi-partisan group of South Jersey voters seeking to hold their congressional representative, Jefferson Van Drew, accountable for his votes and his actions. WIVD recently held a tele-town hall that featured appearances by community leaders and potential CD-2 candidates discussing issues of concern to South Jersey residents. WIVD is planning additional events this summer to showcase the many ways in which Van Drew is not serving the interests of his district or his country.
