Civil Service Job Fair Connects Employers, Job Seekers

The New Jersey Statehouse and Capitol Building In Trenton

CSC will continue to host series of public events throughout the State

Trenton – The NJ Civil Service Commission (CSC) hosted a successful job fair in Morristown, NJ on Thursday, November 14, 2019. The job fair was the first of a series of public employment job fairs which are scheduled throughout the State and will continue into 2020.

More than 17 state agencies and authorities were in attendance to discuss available opportunities during the event at the Morristown Armory, which attracted more than 500 job seekers.

The job fair follows the vision of Deirdré L. Webster Cobb, Esq., Chair and Chief Executive Officer of the New Jersey Civil Service Commission, which is to strengthen the talent pool available to State Government by significantly increasing the number and diversity of applicants interested in state service. “I’m glad that CSC was able to provide a space for job seekers and public employers to meet face-to-face to discuss open career opportunities. There were so many people – from recent graduates looking to start a career in public service to seasoned employees seeking to rejoin the workforce or change their career,” said Webster Cobb. “The talented men and women who participated in this job fair serve as a reminder that one of New Jersey’s most valuable assets is its workforce. We hope the job fairs will remind job seekers statewide that public service offers challenging, rewarding careers.”

Members of the public are encouraged to attend these free events, which will be held in locations in North, Central, and South Jersey. The job fairs are an ideal opportunity to network with state recruiters to discuss employment opportunities with public government entities, the benefits of a career in government, and attend career development workshops.
