Ocean Township, Monmouth County: There are days during any school year that stand out. Few can rival that of the first day of school. Regardless of what grade you are in, it is a chance to reconnect with old friends and make new ones, to meet your current teachers while staying in touch with your old ones.

Ocean Township is a special place where the sky is truly the limit for its students. Steve Clayton (Class of ’97) knows this firsthand. Steve attended Ocean Schools K-12 and credits them for enabling him to become a first-generation college graduate and have the ability to have a professional career that has seen success in a number of fields and leadership roles.

As the school year starts, it is appropriate to think of the Dr. Seuss classic and say, “Oh, the places you’ll go!” Be kind, and take care of those around you. Let your Spartan Legacy be bright. Ocean is a dynamic place with talented students that never cease to amaze.

About Steve: Steve is a proud Ocean graduate who graduated from the University of Maryland-College Park and Carnegie Mellon University. He presently serves as Director of Development for a statewide nonprofit focused on ensuring that children can grow up safe, healthy, and educated. Steve is an avid runner, reader, and once sang a solo of Aladdin in 8th grade (thank goodness there wasn’t YouTube back then)!
