in the City of Plainfield.

As Mayor of Plainfield, Adrian O. Mapp has led a progressive agenda that has united its citizens and breathed life into the city. Since his first term, Mayor Mapp has worked diligently with residents from every ward of the City. He understands that in order for a city to prosper, its residents and their needs must come first. With this in mind, Mapp has delivered budgets with a zero tax increase, which has provided much needed assistance to citizens during the unprecedented Coronavirus health crisis. His campaign slogan of ‘One Plainfield – One Future’ is the perspective with which he approaches leadership, seeing all citizens as equal and prioritizing the improvement of quality of life for every resident in Plainfield. Over his two terms, Mayor Mapp demonstrated that he knows what it takes to make a city prosper. He has made Plainfield safer and more affordable, improved the city’s fiscal health, developed the economy, transformed recreational spaces and updated city infrastructure across the wards.

As clergy, we emphasize the importance of compassion in personal interactions. It is critical for our public officials to emphasize this quality as well. Compassionate leadership is needed in order to address the varied needs of all residents in an official’s jurisdiction. This allows for every resident to feel included and represented as opposed to marginalized. Mayor Mapp leads Plainfield with an abundance of compassion and as a result has unified the city and given voice to the voiceless. A city cannot prosper if it is not unified. If re-elected he will continue to guide the city toward progress with firm, unwavering leadership and work on behalf of all its citizens.
