Congestion Pricing Now Issues Statement on the Rejection of New Jersey’s Motion to Amend Lawsuit

NEW YORK, NY – “The Congestion Pricing Now Coalition applauds the decision of Judge Leo Gordon to reject New Jersey’s motion to amend their lawsuit targeting New York’s congestion pricing program. This action is a clear indication that Governor Phil Murphy’s attempt to portray congestion pricing as unconstitutional is completely baseless. Congestion pricing will benefit commuters who rely on public transit to reach their jobs and schools, while reducing dangerous gridlock that blocks our intersections and pollutes our air. Governor Murphy should recognize that the vast majority of New Jersey residents who commute into New York City use public transit, not cars, and they deserve a Governor who will prioritize remedying the dire issues facing NJ Transit. We applaud Judge Gordon for his swift action, and we look forward to the successful implementation of this critically needed program.”
