Congressional Candidate Tamara Harris Opens Campaign Headquarters to Large Crowd of Constituents Seeking a Fresh Perspective
(Morristown, NJ—March 3, 2018) Tamara Harris, who is running in the Democratic primary to fill the Congressional seat in the 11th District of New Jersey officially opened her campaign headquarters in Morristown, N.J. on Saturday, March 3, 2018.
More than 50 people passed through the campaign office to welcome the congressional candidate. Morristown Mayor Timothy Dougherty, who has stated he is staying neutral in the primary welcomed Tamara to Morristown. He and his wife, Mary Dougherty who is running for Morris County Freeholder were among the residents in attendance.
Tamara Harris spoke about how she would put people before politics in the 11th district by reforming the tax code, enforcing strict gun control, and improving healthcare so that everyone has access to affordable coverage. A campaign staffer introduced her acknowledging that Tamara is not a career politician, nor is she endorsed by the major political bosses.
“She may not be the candidate of the political bosses, but she is the candidate of the people,” said a spokesperson for the campaign. “The people should have the right to decide who they want to send to Washington to represent their interests and not have any one person forced down their throat by the political bosses.”
